Mentoring is said to be one of the most critical part of owning an online business. The business or organization is the second most important thing to starting a business. It is said that mentoring can be in direct Proportion to your success. When we go to school, their is usually teachers that were good Mentors, that had a positive impact on one, something we remember for what they contributed to our lives. The same should hold true when you need guidance, and support with owning your own business. Having a mentor to help guide you and teach you effective business strategies can increase your chances of success.

their own home based business. You have chosen your company and ready to work. What you really need now is mentors or a Mentoring team to help you to build your online business. This is an exciting time for you but there is always a wealth of information that you will need to learn. A good mentor is going to guide and teach you steps to achieving each goals. When you are seeking a mentor or mentoring team there are seven steps to having a good working relationship with you mentors. Being a good mentoree is as important as having a qualified mentors or mentoring team.

1.) Respect Your Mentors - Understand when you partner with a mentor or mentoring

team they are their to help share their expertise with you. Qualified mentors will have a wealth of information and have a business strategy in place to assist you. But they are teaching you, and they have others they are mentoring so be courteous of their time. When they have a plan in place they are going to expect you to have each task completed by the time you meet again. The biggest mistake you can make is not following through with expectations. They are not going to devote their time with someone who is not a serious business builder.

2.) Do not call with 110 questions per day - when you have your meeting with your mentor take notes

and ask questions. One your biggest hindrances will be if you get off your meeting with no notes and then have to call your Mentor or Mentors with questions. Calling or contacting your mentors is more then okay, in fact good mentors will want you to. However, if you call ten times per day questioning one task. Your mentors are likely not to take you as a serious business builder. A mentor will guide and show you how they have reached success. But if they are answering questions that they covered in a morning meeting into the evening, it will not become a good working environment for you.

3.) Follow their steps exactly - Do not reinvent the wheel, take

the classes and trainings seriously. When a mentor gives you instructions you don’t have to understand the whole picture that day. In fact many good mentoring teams recognize that giving to much information can actually be harmful for the mentoree. You should understand the foundation for each new subject approached and a brief introduction to why this can be helpful, but in my opinion, it should stop there. You are a sponge right now taking in , seo classes, website design, and marketing strategies. Marketing and building a business is like putting a puzzle together. You may not understand why piece A goes there but by piece N comes the puzzle begins to make sense. Just take your time and don’t push forward concentrate on what you are being taught today.

4.) Build a relationship with your mentors - Notice the mentors that have impacted your life you had respect for and came from a positive relationship. You never hear, My mentor showed me how to build a large business but I hated him and had no respect for him” You will be spending some time with you mentor or mentoring team, getting to know them will have a impact on how you work together. Find a issue besides business that you have in common. That doesn’t’ mean you want to take your whole meeting up talking about those issues but it is nice to take some time to know

the person that you are working with.

5.) Mentor accountability - as much as you have to be accountable for your business, so do your mentors have to be accountable for setting out time to meet with you. If you are having a subject you are feeling weak in contact them and tell them that you need some extra help in a certain situation. Don’t just call without trying to figure some of it out yourself. If you call all the time not understanding then it tells mentors that you are not putting some personal time into your business. Try to complete the task you were taught yourself referring to your notes during the training. If that doesn’t work then

contact your sponsor and tell them where your problems are and what you have done yourself to fix that problem. Most mentors appreciate the fact that you have taken some action yourself to figure out the problem. At this point a separate time, other then scheduled trainings, should be set aside to walk you through the steps you are having a hard time with. Your mentor should step up and help you out.

6) Mentors and Mentorees goals - You Mentors job is to teach you business steps to assist you in growing your business. Mentorees job is to learn marketing strategies, and business building techniques. Your Mentors job is not to run your business. That is your job, you

do have the ultimate choice in what you do or how you build your business. I would suggest yielding to advice of Mentors as they have experience and have already proven themselves to know how to build businesses.. But ultimately you have the say in what happens with your business

7.) Mentors Task Defined - Mentors are trainers, not secretaries, accountants, or customers. They are going to teach you how and what works for business. Don’t expect them to do the financial reports, send emails, or give tax advice. Its never a good idea to think they are going to run your business for you, that is bad misconception. Understand their responsibilities, the rest is up to you.

have built because of the mentoring given to someone. Once you are clear about what your expectations are and your mentors responsibilities you can enjoy a great working relationship. Lifelong friendships, and life changing partnerships have been made. Being a good mentoree is as important as finding a good mentor. Realizing that you are responsible for the information you are giving concludes your final results. If they are releasing valuable information and time to your business. Take their time seriously and learn from their experiences. Learning and being taught, can have a positive effect on your growth.
